Thy does not takes on the sins nor Virtues! May 30, 2008

The All-Pervading God, neither takes on the sins nor the virtues of anyone; as knowledge is enveloped by ignorance; therefore, beings get deluded.

“naadatte kasyacitpaapam na caiva sukratam vibhuh” -
In the preceding verse, He (God) who has been called out by the name “Prabhuh,” is referred to as “Vibhuh” over here.

A man inherits the fruit of actions in two ways - Through performing actions by himself (considering himself to be the doer), and through causing others to perform actions. But God neither does actions for others, nor does he cause others to perform actions. Rather, He cannot inherit the fruits of anyone’s actions.

The Sun provides light to the entire Universe and in that light men commit sins and perform virtuous actions. But the Sun has no relationship whatsoever with those actions. Similarly, nature and the entire Universe, receive the power of existence from God and with that power nature and it’s activity, perform various bodily and worldly actions. But those bodily actions leading to sins and virtues have not the least bit of connection with God (Supreme Consciousness element). God has given freedom to man, whereby man can consider himself to be the inheritor of the fruits of those actions or He can consider these actions and their fruits as belonging to God. In other words, man has the choice to offer all the actions and their fruits to God. He who, by misusing the freedom given by the Lord, becomes a doer and reaps the fruits of actions, is bound. The Lord, does not accept these actions and their fruit as His. But he who by making right use of freedom, offers his
actions and their fruit to God, is liberated, and the Lord accepts such actions and their fruits.

As in Gita 7:25 by the term “sarvasya” (all) and in the Gita 7:26 by the term “kascana” (anyone), the Lord has talked about general people. And by the term “Kasyacit” God describes common people, who regard themselves as doers and enjoyers of fruits. He is not referring to the devotees (bhakts). As far as, devotees are concerned, the Lord accepts a leaf, a flower, a fruit or even a little water, which is offered to Him with the inner feeling of devotion (Gita 9:26-27)

“Ajnaanenaavrtam jnaanam - The knowledge of the Self is self-evident to all, but due to knowledge is enveloped in ignorance. It is because of this ignorance that beings are deluded, He who thinks “I am the doer” is deluded (Gita 3:27). A man can wipe out this delusion through discrimination, which has been bestowed upon him by God. Therefore in Gita 5:8 it has been said that Sankhya yogi should at no time consider himself to be the doer of any actions, while in Gita 5:13, it has been said, that he should mentally renounce the doership of all actions through discrimination.

GIVING AND TAKING- Swami RAMSUKHDASJI May 30, 2008

seeking happiness, the inner faculty becomes impure, and by giving happiness the inner faculty is purified.

He who wishes to take something from this ocean of life, he drowns; while he who desires to give, he crosses (swims) that ocean.

By having the inner intention of giving, oneness and love manifests and by having the inner intention of taking, conflicts occur.

The inner attitude of “giving” leads to spiritual progress, while the feeling of “taking” brings about a fall.

Treating the body to be “I”, “mine” and “for me,” the feeling of wanting to take from others arises.

Maintain relations with others, only to serve them. If you retain relations to seek something from others, then you will have to face unhappiness.

It is better not to take at all, than to take with the objective of giving in charity.

It is a greater virtue to not take at all, then to take for the purpose of giving. But there are very few who understand this point.

It is a sin to take anything from this world, but to give is virtuous.

For taking happiness, even this body is not ours and for giving happiness the entire universe is ours.

By desiring to take, man becomes a slave, and by having a desire to only give, man becomes a master.

On feeling like taking something, sense enjoyment (bhog) takes place and on desiring to give away, union (yoga) takes place.

The body has to be supplied with essentials such as food, water and clothing, however, one is not to become the recipient of these things by establishing a relationship with body. Taking is bondage, while giving is salvation.

Devotion! May 29, 2008

Filed under: ENGLISH — dhavalrajgeera @ 2:41 am

reality, we are part of God. We are His very own. We are His inheritance. “Ishvar ansh…” We have accepted that which is our very own as being apart from us. We have accepted as our own, the mind, body, intellect, and other things that are a part of Nature. However, we are only Consciousness (chetan). How can the inert (body, mind, ego etc) be ours? Egoism exists for two reasons - one is due to desire for the world and the other is desire for God. When the desire for God is fulfilled, then the desire for the world is wiped out. As long as we give importance to worldly matters, the worldly egoism persists. However, desire for God is innate and naturally present.

In devotion there is something very special. There is importance of faith. While in discrimination (vivek) there is importance of the difference between the real (sat) versus unreal (asat). In devotion, it is simple. I belong to God, I am His. In entire scriptures, at no time have you been called as being part of Nature. When you accept yourself as part of God, every thing will be alright. “Aisa abhimaan jaaye nahin more….” This is not egoism. It is not “par” (foreign). Simply speaking - just like your mother is your mother. It is not egoism to see your mother as your very own maa. Wherever there is “par” (foreign) i.e. someone other than your own Self, it leads to bhog (enjoyment of pleasures).

Devotion is of two types -

1) Devotion through a spiritual practice (sadhan bhakti) and
2) Devotion through oneness with God (sadhya bhakti).

There are nine steps of sadhan bhakti - sharavanam, kirtan, smaranam, archanam, padasevanam, vandanam, dasyam, sakhyam, atmanivedam. Whereas in sadhya bhakti is only refuge in God. There is no other. There is only God. You do not exist. You are surrendered to Him. This is the best of all (sarva guhyatam) and it comes only once in the entire Gita. It is the best of all (sarva guhyatam) - taking refuge in God. Atyantta gopniya “highest secret”. It is God’s immense grace.

In Saadhya bhakti, there is no importance of discrimination (vivek). Just like the child says this is my mother. She simply IS. There is no inquiry into why she is his mother, whether he was born from her etc. Simply speaking, she is my mother. She appears ever so sweet to him. Similarly is sadhya bhakti, it is very similiar. God is ours and He appears sweet. Taking refuge in God, is a very great thing. “maamekum sharanam vraj”. Dependence on only God. Do everyone’s work, serve all, but depend on only God and become joyous. After all we are part of God, His inheritance.

You hear this, you know of it, you contemplate on it, but you simply don’t follow through. This is the main work that is remaining and you will have to do this work at some point in time. A hungry can only be satisfied from eating something. Without salvation, where will this embodied soul (jeev) go ? With a true heart, engage in God and all will be alright. If you do so with a true heart, there will be great results. Those that have been engaged with a true heart, have gained immensely. After knowing all this, after going through all this effort - spending time, spending money, coming to discourses, if you are not engaging, and not following through then what is the use ? Simply do not be satisfied with the time and effort you currently spend on devotion and worship of God. When you are sitting in your shop for selling goods, there will be days when you may not sell anything, but in spending time with God, there will be only gains, for any amount of time you
put in God’s rememberance and worship will lead to gains. Simply decide to start and thereafter increase your intensity (lagan). It is the most important thing and you will definitely benefit. This is the Truth. It is absolute. It is work that is essential and needs to get done. What if you die today ? Therefore with a true heart become engaged in God.

If you have true longing (lagan), all work will be alright. Let there be no concern about the world. Become engaged in worship and devotion and there will be definite gains. Don’t speak much. Practice silence (mauna). There will come a time when you wont have to put the effort, you will automatically be engaged in God. Many have done so. No amount will satisfy us in the material world. There will always be shortages of some sort. There will always be - should have, would have, could have etc. You still have time, so become alert so that you don’t have to regret later on. You are getting messages of truth that will benefit you greatly, therefore follow through with what is being said. All are poor. Only those who are chanting the Name of God are truly rich.

Who am I?….. Saint TulsiDasji. May 27, 2008

“Ishvar Ansh Jeev Avinaashi, Chetan Amal Sahaj Sukhraashi”
There are five points.

1) We are a part of God (ray of His Supreme Consciousness). (Ishvar Ansh)
2) We are Eternal (Amal)
3) We are only Consciousness (Chetan). We are not this body.
4) We are pure and flawless (Amal)
5) We are ever blissful (sahaj sukhraashi)

Understand this deeply and sincerely that you are not this body. Spiritual Aspirant is without a form. He is not with any form. A spiritual aspirant come in this hall and listens to spiritual discourses (satsang). He does not become the hall. Similarly we do not become this body. We reside in this body and listen to discourses and associate with Truth. The body will remain as long as it is to remain. One day it separates. Not just one day, every day and every moment it is separating. Every moment it is changing. Even for a moment it does not remain stable. Even at time of dissolution of the world (at end of kalpa), you remain. You do not go through distress and fear even during dissolution. This continues to happen, it is happening, but it is separate from you. You are separate from it. You are a part of God (Supreme Consciousness). Therefore I am God’s and God is mine. That is it. No one else is mine and I am no one elses. “Hoyi Ram ko naam japo,”
says Tulsidasji Maharaj. Become God’s.

You are already God’s in a suble form, from time immemorable. “Bigadi janam anek ki, sudhare ab ji aaj” Transform today, at this very moment - Become God’s. We are God’s and God is ours. We do not belong to the world. In this entire universe not even a strand of hair is ours. Not even a small things such as a sesame seed is ours. God is ours entirely and completely. Just like the mother of ten children, for each of the children, the mother is entirely theirs. It is not as if the mother is shared and divided for each. She entirely belongs to each of the children. Similarly God is entirely our very own. For the billions and trillions of people, God entirely belongs to each one of us. Entirely and completely ! God is everyones completely. Can mother be cut into pieces to be shared? No, she cannot be. She is every child’s entirely. God belongs to everyone. All belong to God. He is our relative. That is the truth - We are His and He is Ours. We belong
to God.

This world is not mine and I do not belong to the World. The world does not remain with us. So many different bodies we have had, yet none have remained with us. Will this human body remain? It will leave us. Meeting and then separating. It will come together and later part. That which meets and separates, that which comes and later goes away, that which has a beginning and then comes to an end, is not ours. Only God remains eternally with us. He is ours. We are His. Believing this - “Hoyi Rama ko naam jap” Tulsidasji Maharaj says that become God’s and engage in His love, worship and devotion. Today simply accept that you are God’s. I am sure you all have accepted this, but if any of you have not, then do so. All of you. “I am God’s and God is Mine. We are not of this body, and the body is not ours. The body does not remain with us. It is flowing ! It is flowing ! It is flowing ! Just like Gangaji keeps flowing. All the bodies keep flowing. From
childhood if you look to right now, how much it has changed ? We cannot recognize this immediately, but it is changing all the time. There is not a moment that it remains still. How much has changed, we are unable to recognize quickly. It continues to keep changing. There is not a moment that the world is not changing. You (Self) remain as is, at all times.

We are God’s and God is our is a supreme point. It is a simple, straightforward point. You have been hearing this for years, you are saying I am God’s and God is mine. Neither God changes, nor you change. The world changes. God is ours and We are His, that relationship is unchanging. Whatever relationship you find sweet, understand the same to be with God. Whatever you like. Consider God to be your mother. God is my mother. The relationship with God is eternal. The relationship with the world is not ours at all, it will not be in the future and can never be. The relationship never was there in the beginning, in the middle it is not be there and even in the future, it will not be there. It is a simple straightforward point. Now all those that have heard this, all are now firm on this point. If you are not, become firm. We are God’s. We are not of this world. We have no relationship with the world.

ANY ONE CAN SAY! YOUR VIEWS ?WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE May 26, 2008

I have watched brilliant men, arguing over the origins of the universe on TV.People getting tangled up with what was before. And how nature is a ware zone.
A technical technique I have used called Lissajous, will reveal one frequency among a multitude, simply by using the right reference. I think using the right reference can expose among the dross the TRUTH.I don’t believe modern western thinking will get there, unless courage is shown in the understanding that the intellect is a very long road.
I am trying to be introspective, not intellectual. There is a question here, something to do with multitude and singularity of the MIND, (CONSCIOUSNESS?).
Any insights based on the Gita ?

Yours in respect,

Mike
(mike.keenor)

Shree Hari:

Just like at present, this hall is illumed by the sun light, and in this light there is no coming and going. This light is naturally present. Similarly for illuminating this entire universe, there is that essential Consciousness. Just like the Sun illumes all, similarly for all fields the illuminator is the “knower of the
field”. All you have to know is that He (Supreme Consciousness) is the illuminator of all. Whatever you may do, but that illumination is there as IS. In this hall if some one comes and some one goes away, if entire hall is completely filled up, then too, there will be no change in the light. Even if it is completely empty, then too there is no change in the light. That light (illumination) remains as is. Similiarly the illuminator of this entire Universe, remains as is. If the world does all kinds of activity or it does not. In the day time all work gets done and at night all are sleeping and resting, then too there is no difference in the illumination, and that light continues to illume the entire Universe. It illumes the field and the knower of the field. It does not create the light. When the Sun arrives, there is automatically light. Sun is not generating any light, it has the natural tendency and strength to illume. Similarly that Supreme Consciousness remains
as IS, at all times and eternally, and activities that takes place, all take place in nature. It is that Supreme Consciousness that illuminates all. And that illumination simply happens. Our essential state is naturally in that light (consciousness).
All beings are naturally established in that consciousness. But instead we begin to consider the one that is being illumed as real. We gave it (the one being illumed) a reality and we gave it importance. This is the reason for bondage. The existence and importance of the reality of all beings in nature has been given by
us. Therefore it is up to us to remove it. This has not been given by God. It has been created by us.God’s consciousness is equally present everywhere. This is a simple and straightforward point. All fields are being illumed and all that is illumed, we have given it a reality and importance, even though in reality this illumination is not it’s own.

“Nasotovidhyate bhavah” “The unreal has no existence.” (Gita 2:16). It never was, it will not remain afterwards and it is changing every moment. At first, there was non-existence of the world (before
creation), then later, there will be non-existence of the world (after destruction), and while it appears to be existing right now, it too is constantly changing. It does not have an existence of it’s own. It is the existence of the illuminator that is giving it a feeling of existence. That is all there is to it. God (Supreme Consciousness) is the illuminator of all. This is the simple straight forward point. Only that consciousness IS. IT is not the giver of the reality to all, IT is not the creator ofexistence of all, IT simple IS. When one realizes the existence of that one and only Supreme Consciousness, then one realizes that there is only God. Not “All is God” “Vasudeva Sarvam” but only
God “Vasudeva” (Supreme Consciousness) .

How to be free! May 20, 2008

Shree Hari:

19th May, 2008, Monday
Baisakh Shukla Purnima, Vikram Samvat 2065, Somvar

Freed from attachment, fear and anger, absorbed in Me and taking refuge in Me, purified by the penance of knowledge, many have attained union with My Being. (Gita 4:10)

“Vitaraagabhayakrodhaa manmayaa maamupaasritaah
Bahavo jnaanatapasaa poota madbhaavamaagataah.” (Gita 4:10)

When a man has disinclination for God, he gets attached to the perishable objects. It is because of his attachment that he has the sense of “mine” for the objects attained and a desire for those that are not attained. He has greed (want of more) for those objects that are already acquired and gets angry with those that are roadblocks in the acquisition of those objects. If those individuals that are roadblocks, are stronger than him, it causes fear within him. Thus attachment to perishable objects gives birth to fear, anger, greed, desire, feeling of “mine” and other vices. If attachment is renounced, all these vices will perish. If instead of regarding the objects as ours, and for us, we regard these as belonging to others, for others, and render service to others with them, then attachment perishes, as we have no affinity for such objects and actions.

As a disinterested friend of all beings, God without any selfish motive, descends to this mortal world, in order to inspire beings to attain salvation. When a man has a firm belief that He is a disinterested friend of all beings, then he is attracted towards God. The attraction for God, wipes out the attraction for the world. For example, in childhood, children play the game of marbles and have attraction for the same. They fight for their share of winnings in marbles. When they grow older, instead of having attraction for marbles or toys, they have attraction for money. But when they are inclined towards God, they have no attraction for the mundane objects and riches. Their attachment to worldly objects is renounced. As soon as it is renounced, fear and anger are rooted out, because both of these depend on attachment.

“Manmayaa” - When a man knows the truth about the divine nature of the Lord’s birth and actions, He becomes dear to him. So he takes refuge in Him and gets absorbed in Him.

Those that have attraction for mundane pleasures get absorbed in desire for pleasure (Gita 2:43), while those that have attraction for God ever remain absorbed in Him (Narada Bhaktisutra 70). They lose their individuality because of their exclusive devotion to Him and identify themselves with Him. (to be continued)
