Kaartik Krishna Amaavasya – Deepaavali, Vikram Samvat 2065, Mangalvar
Hari Sharanam. Take refuge in only Hari (God). Only Hari is our true
support. He is our father, mother and everything. There is no other
support. Only Hari, no one else. This is exclusivity. Always and
constantly think of Hari with undivided mind, and ever remain
absorbed in Him (Gita 8:14). Be ever united in thought with Him,
love and worship only Him (Gita 9:22). People have to take support of
many different things at different times. But if we take the support
of only Paramatma (God), we do not need the support of anything
else. All work will be complete thereafter. Nothing will be left
incomplete. All desires will be fulfilled.
Taking refuge in Hari means depending on only Him (Hari Sharanam)
and nothing else, including our ability, knowledge, power, body,
strength, wealth etc as these will not stay with us. We have given
importance to money etc. but they cannot get us everything and will
not stay with us. Hari (God) can get us everything and will always
stay with us. Let us therefore depend on Him alone and remain in
bliss. All desires will be fulfilled and liberation will be
attained. When we exclusively depend on only God, nothing will
remain to be done, known or attained.
Let us seek refuge in Hari and want nothing from Him also. This path
is open to all. Let us have such an intense thirst, a deep longing
for Him, that we cannot stay without Him and He will surely appear
just like He appeared from a pillar for Prahlad. God helps us on
this path at every step. Let us take refuge in Him and become free
of all responsibilities. He thereafter takes over the responsibility
for us. There is no need for anyone or anything else. We have
to surrender ourself only once. Let us simply say just one time “I
AM YOURS”. There is no need to surrender twice.
“Ek aasaro, ek bal, ek aasviswaas, ek Rama Ghanshyam chaatak
Tulasidas.” Only one support – only one strength – only one
dependence – belief in only one. No need for anything else – such
are His devotees, that desire only God. By taking refuge in Him
(Hari Sharanam), all is attained. We have already experienced
everything, what new things are remaining to experience? Like
Mirabai, let us also say “Mere to Giridhar Gopal, doosero na
koi.” “Only God is my very own, there is no one else.” “Kuch ne lena,
ne dena, magan rehenaa.” Nothing to take, nothing to give, only
everlasting joy.” All this is ours, simply by exclusive dependence
on only God. “Sadaa Diwali Sant ki, aatho pahar anand” Saints
experience forever Diwali (Light, Radiance). Ultimately we will have
to take refuge in God, as besides Him, no one else is ours, was
ours, will be ours, or ever can be ours.
