Mind-Intellect is Not Ours !

Become indifferent to the mind-intellect. Anything good or bad that
comes in it, don’t think over it. Whatever thought comes, become
indifferent to it. Don’t fight with it, don’t remove it, do not grab
hold of it. If this art of becoming indifferent is mastered then it
is very beneficial. Become indifferent towards thought. Neither
understands the thought to be good nor bad. Considering it as good
establishes relationship and considering it as bad also establishes
relationship. Those who loved God, they were liberated and those who
hated God, they were also liberated. But those who didn’t do
anything they were not liberated. So if you will love the world then
you will be bound, if you hate the world then you will be bound;
because by loving and hating you will establish a relationship with
the world. Breaking the affinity with world is most important in
Discipline of Knowledge (Gyanyog).

Vivek discriminates between real and unreal (sat-asat). So give
importance to vivek and ignore the unreal. Propensities (thoughts)
are born and die, therefore they are unreal. Whatever is created-
destroyed and has beginning-end is unreal. Whatever is unreal it
gets destroyed on its own; so putting any efforts in destroying it
is meaningless. Whatever is created, it’s most important work is to
be destroyed. When a child is born, what is its most indispensable
work? The inevitable work is – Dying. He will grow up or not, he
will get married or not, his son-daughter will be born or not –
there is a doubt in it, but he will die or not- there isn’t an iota
of doubt in it. So his main work is to die only.

Similarly, if any propensity is born, its important work is only to
perish. Therefore for it’s destruction, to put effort, exert power,
to apply intellect, to use time all this is absolute foolishness and
to desire to maintain it is also foolishness. The thing that will
not remain, to desire to keep it, is a main cause for sorrow. But
our brothers don’t become attentive and alert, what to do! Do not
desire to keep it nor desire to remove it; but we only have to do
our duty, by which everyone gets happy, everyone gets rest. That
which perishes on its own, that which will not last, become
indifferent it – `Dekh Nirpak Hoye Tamaashaa’

Be a witness and watch the play’. This is a very beneficial point.
So become impartial, indifferent and neutral from intellect that we
don’t have any business with it. Don’t accept – I am not able to
become impartial, indifferent and neutral. Now it seems that we are
not able to separate our Self from intellect, but it is not so. For
this I have told one point – Is intellect ours or are we the
intellect? This is not an ordinary point. It is very useful. We are
not the intellect. The intellect is ours. Intellect is ours, so
either we use it or don’t. But had we been of the intellect then it
would have been a problem. (to be continued)

  1. A friendly caress completes the ingredients for physical well being of a healthy body and paves way for a healthy mind.
What strengthen our mind are the emotions that we indulge in. Their flavour is the feelings that they generate within us for the fleeting moment that we indulge in them.

Feelings like happiness and sadness generated by emotions of love and longing. Feelings of ecstasy and anguish. Emotions strengthen our mind and provide the ideal settings for our intellect to evolve. Our intellect derives its nutrition from our thoughts. Incisive thoughts and lofty ideals strengthen our intellect.
