When we acquire wealth, we feel elated from within, similarly when listening to these truths, the joy must come from within and thereafter the desire to live or the fear of death should not remain ! The reason is that what can be a matter of greater joy than that by which our sorrow, grief, lamentation, and burning sensation come to an end? Such gain one cannot get even on acquiring several lakhs (millions) of rupees. Because even on attaining millions and billions of Rupees, and the entire empire of the earth, one day it will get separated from us.

We presume our existence in our physical body, we even presume our body as our ownself which is our mistake. The greatest hurdle to salvation, is to honor the wrong beliefs and to neglect the truth. By presuming the self as the physical body, we start making statements such as “I am a child, I am a youth, I am an old man. In fact we neither become young, nor do we become old, but rather the physical body becomes old etc. We presume that we are sick, when the body falls sick. When we acquire wealth we say we are wealthy. When the wealth goes away, we say we have become poor. It is only due to accepting oneness (ektaa), feeling identity with the physical body and the wealth that one feels he is poor. When anger arises, we say that we are angry ! Now think for a moment – does the anger stay at all times? and for all? That which does not occur everytime and for all, how can it be in me? If a dog enters our house, does he become the master of the house? In the same way, if anger comes does that make me an angry person? Anger comes and goes away, but I exist eternally.
A place changes, time changes, objects, circumstances, incidents, and events change, but I exist at all times.
